jordan river 12/ 7

I gotta see this.:astonished:

What’s more scary, I went out to the Garage the other day. There is a 5’ a 4 1/2’ a 3’ and maybe a 3 1/2’ ice pole one with a Mepps on it…and I have no idea where they came from! Anyway, Shimano reel, I will put some new line on…why not? So, I won’t be fly fishing, but I will be fishing a fly…LOL and no casting involved Yup, I can do this…

You will do fine. Just make sure TD has some extra homemade jigs just in case the flies don’t work. I take it you won’t be using bait either? I think it can be done. I even have some flies I tied that I think might work pretty darn good. I will report about it if it does.[fishin]

Thanks FOD. I am familiar with TD’s little creations, works of art for sure.
Don’t get me wrong, catching a fish through a hole MY way would be cool as heck, but if I don’t hook up, that too is okay as long as it is a good time, no mishaps, and great company, then it is a win win situation.

If your decision is to try the whities through the ice I am pretty sure you will find some takers fishing your way. Early season they can be pretty aggressive. Should be fun. As you said getting out, good company and a safe trip make it worth going. Interested fishies just adds to the pleasures. If you twist Pats arm into some chowder even gooder

Thanks, I will take anythingn that wants to play…did I ever tell you about the coke can that actually put up a fight…:sunglasses:

TyeDye, how do you know where he is? What gates? [;)]

JK, you don’t have to tell me, I’m just wondering. I live a mile from the river in Bountiful, but it’s a long river for me to walk along the jogging trails trying every 50 yards…

Thanks to the O.P., I spent a few hours kicking the living snot out of the fish on the Jordan today. Pretty much every species in there found its way to my fly. I even caught my first catfish on a flyrod. Fast action, almost all of it on top with foam poppers.

Now, should I go again tomorrow…?

I think you should…[;)]

The picture gives away some clues.

They are good smoked, take out the blood line and don’t over cook (smoke)..

Yes TD makes some great lures and has done so for over 30+ years that I have know him..[crazy]
Looking back that’s a long time..

any chance of you posting your perch chowder recipe. I have a bucket full of white bass that I need to use up. Thanks

I fished the JR today near Murray. I fished an hour at the same spot; caught two 5 lb (I’m guessing that was their weight) carp and three white bass. Lost a few more white bass. All on a scented Mister Twister white curly tail grub with 1/8 oz jig head fished near the bottom with a slow retrieve.

Cliff, you ‘n’ Pat must be older than the rocks that decomposed to make the dirt!

:sunglasses:Here ya go. A very flexible recipe that begins with a few cans of cream of potato soup. After that you can make your own personal touches to create whatever you like best.

White bass work very well as the fish part.

No![crazy] but TD gave them the recipe to make the dirt…[;)]

That is why it’s so good, like his perch chowder..[sly]

:sunglasses:I may have developed the recipe for dirt…but only after you invented rocks.

LOL LOL You got me there…LOL[sly]

Hey, both of you are still young pups!
