I have been wanting to do the same thing this off season. Aside from rod holders, I also want to add wheels in case we had a snow-less winter like this one.

It’s nice to see someone looking through old posts. Topics do have a tendency to recycle. In fact earlier this year there were a few posts on the topic. Skunkedagain had a lengthy thread on PVC marvels.
One thing I did was to mount a rod-rack to a rubbermaid bin that holds way too much stuff. I have a rod bag for travel, but then pull the bin out next to my tent and have ready access to a row of rods.
