After my third try, I finally had time to finish the on line test this past weekend. On one of the info sections before the question, it gave the phone number of all the DWR decontamination numbers to call if you want your boat decontaminated. I just got off the phone with one of the agents and basically they only have the decontamination units and personnel in place from Memorial day to Labor day, during daylight hours only, other than that you have to make an appointment with them to have your boat decontaminated. I’ve been out in my boat and a friends boat four or five times so far this year and each time I’ve looked at other tow vehicles to see if they have the self decontamination form on their dash board. In most cases they did not have the form displayed. It is the responsibility of the person that is launching to make sure they have the proper form before they get to the body of water but the state should also have forms available when entering the park.
That being said, what are your thoughts on state parks or sheriff personal launching boats without the decontamination form on their dash board? IMO if they are launching a boat they should follow the same rules the rest of us do, you know, lead by example, instead of saying do as I say, not as I do[crazy].
