It is only a forum. Anytime you put information out on a public site you are going to help most but are always in some way going to make someone mad. That is why we all have different values, perspectives, and most of all attitudes. What is said alot of the times is taken the wrong way by someone just because of the way they process it in their mind.
Let the moderator know and maybe they will stand up and determine if the person or persons should have a spot on the site. That is there responsibility.
So how is fishing? I hope the New Year brings out the best in us but as we all know there will be someone that will post and piss some of us off. It might even be me!
Heck, I love a good debate/argument with my brother or wife. Things get very loud with waving and yelling, but it’s all in good fun while you try to get your point across. I’m sure some people would get very offended if I tried to debate the same way with them.
I just sounds like misunderstandings and personality differences to me.
Oh, and hey, if posting about small fisheries can cull the popluation I’m more than willing to lie about the great fishing at Roberts in the hopes that it thins out the perch a bit, those things are tiny.
No, you’re not abrasive, so don’t sweat the small stuff, and truly someone’s opinion on a forum is SMALL stuff. Don’t let it affect you that much. It is just THEIR opinion, not everyone’s.
If you let their opinion drive you off, you are letting them win. We don’t want that kind of a board, where we are left with the dregs that drove everyone else off. So stay and post. It is what you know, and what you think of yourself that is important. I appreciate your willingness to share and enthusiasm for the sport. I have learned a lot from you, and I always like more information about the local area.
Unfortunately writing on a forum doesn’t convey the meaning you would get if you were talking to someone in person. Misunderstandings happen, and people take comments as being more than they were. Don’t be sensitive and take one or two people’s opinions as the whole boards opinion. Maybe they are having a bad day, or maybe they get picked on at work, and they want to pick on someone else! 
[:|] It is like grade school, you find some people that you click with and some you don’t. The ones you don’t click with you can ignore them and their private messages etc., you don’t have to play their game. They want to get a rise out of you and if you let them then they win. Just be courteous and polite, but brush what they say off. Even the very blunt rude ones.
To those of you that were offended by the negative comments about Utahans fishing up here. Don’t be!!! It wasn’t everyone on the board that feels that way. I would say that the majority DON’T feel that way at all. A lot of you Utahans that fish here are really great. You’re helpful, and post some great reports. I have learned a lot from you. You contribute a lot both to the forum and to our state’s resources. [:)] So keep up the reports. Don’t let the jerks win.
Avery’s Adventure, I really miss your reports, and would love to hear what you and Avery are catching these days. He must be a pretty good sized boy now, and quite the fishing partner!

It’s all the damned lurkers I tell ya! Maybe they oughta install an option like some other (can’t be named) forums that require #posts, signup to view reports beyond a certian level.
Jeremy - I’ve enjoyed your contributions, and have taken my share of “bashing” on both I and U forums. But I keep trying to shrug it off, and tell myself the positives I gain, and hopefully occasionally contribute to, outweigh the negatives (might need new kitties for 2012!!)
And as one of the Utards that might be coming up there to ruin your waters too (certain somebodies keep selling my on the wheres and whys!) I enjoy hearing tails from Up North.
Folks keep blaming FORUM POSTS for fishing pressure. Um, er - population growth??!! Could that have something to do with it? Maybe we oughta attack the tackle stores for telling people what to fish, and where, and how. I’ll bet they are MORE to blame than any online forum. But - it IS their business interest to drum up sales, and telling you THIS lure will work on THAT lake - well, ka-ching!
I agree though - if you get a nasty gram, or a slam-delicious reply - reach out to the mods. I’ve reported posts when I’ve felt unduly “attacked” and think I’ve had EXCELLENT response from the Mods. They do a great job at attempting to manage an unruly playground of kids.
Hate to see our GOOD posters get run off. Think about it - if you leave us, what will we be left with?

Jeremy all I can say is try not to think about what others say and do to ya. I personally never think about others more than 5 minutes after reading it or replying to it. I do have buddies that have left forums cuz they lose sleep over it.

FG I fully agree. The rise of the internet is a symptom of the advances in technology, and growth of population. I too have learned of many water-bodies because of this forum. But I’ve also explored and found many locations on my own (sometimes I like getting lost).
It amazes me how some folks just can’t disconnect - went to a ballet last night, and despite the announcement, folks with family IN the show (Nutcracker) could NOT refrain from texting through the WHOLE show, or using their cell as a flashlight to read the program. People Really!!! Two frickin hours SHUT IT OFF!!! Most annoying.
I know you fly-flingers enjoy the solitude of your secret rivers and small streams, and totally appreciate the need/desire to keep them out of the mainstream (so to speak).

you guys forget that this forum is set up so that we the fishermen and fisherwomen can help each other and share our experiances. I too have ran into people who get upset because of what i post about a certain spot. it doesnt bother me. i would much rather see the smile on someones face who is catching fish and having the time of their life then hog and hord spots to my self. this is my honest opinion about the subject. If you have a problem with somebody contributing to the site such as location, bait/lure used, etc. then maybe you need to rethink your motives for being a member of the site. we help each other on here and thats that. if somebody else posts about a spot that they did well at and it turns out that it was your “secrete spot” then i guess it wasnt so secrete. the point im getting at really is we should all be on here to help each other and share our experiances. if you get upset about some info that was posted there is nothing you can do about it and i do not personally beleive its worth starting a quarrel over.

Jeremy, keep posting. At some point we all rub someone wrong and we all get rubbed wrong by someone. That’s the way it is. I second what someone else said and I hope to run into you sometime out there and spend an afternoon fishing with you. I have enjoyed your many posts here.
As far as debates go I hope those will still be had here. My mind was opened up on a topic a few years ago that I chimed in on that quite frankly I was handed enough “info” to sway a long time belief/thought. Someone did tick me off in the manner in which they conveyed their thoughts but I got over it. Plenty of others had the same point as him but conveyed their thoughts other ways that my feelers didn’t get hurt. (Ok, my ego didn’t get quite as hammered.)
If my mind hasn’t swayed on other things I have learned much during the process.
I missed the whole Utah/Idaho thing, or at least (from what I have read) where it turned nasty. Give me a break. We all want the good stuff for ourselves. It ain’t that way tho. We will all groan about someone else where ever they are from at our special spots. You go to New Mexico I am sure they are grumbling over the Texans. We can all gripe about the folks from back east tho.
I do not think you would ever want to single someone out and have them blocked from posting on a thread even if you start it. PMs. sure, but not the forum No way, no how.

The post was about condie i said well there goes that spot never anything about it being my secret spot. And it aperently was taken wrong. I then followed up by saying i guess it doesnt matter because what works for one person doesnt mean it will work for some one else!! Then i sent a pm about lamont giving my findings telling exactly what they asked for! They asked has any one been to lamont or johnson i had been to lamont so i pm’d him saying there was around 6" when i had went of ice the fishing was ok not great but ok.. and to avoid the inlet because it was breaking apart there. Then i said i pm’d you because its a small place and doeant need to be hot spoted " i dont know about you but i enjoy a quiet time on the lake" thats exactly what i said.. then i got pm’d back and it said jeremy i do not need your info i can do just fine with out it you have insulted me myself as well as others on this bored would like to see you gone please just stop posting and pming me thanks.. and that is what was said.. i never said anything about secret spot ever just said some of the little lakes dont need the pressure.. at any given second there are over 220 unregistured guests every 15 min on the boards.

sorry if you took that post personally it was meant in general for everybody. you and outdoorsman are both respected members here and i would hate to see either of you go. i did read the condie conversation so i knew what was going on. i do enjoy quiet time on the lakes or rivers that i fish but i enjoy helping people just as much. again sorry i wasnt attacking you just reminding everybody whyand how we should participate in the forums.
