Ice Fishing Sonar Questions

The only advice to follow when buying toys:

It’s easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. If you ask permission you hear about it everytime its mentioned. If you buy it, pull it in the driveway, you hear about it once, a little louder but once. She’ll get over it!

I’ll just tell her the BFT moderator told me she would get over it .:face_with_tongue: I think she is just getting over me buying my new H2OC GPS with software . I better wait a little bit .

Hey, Ralphie boy!
Did you get it at Cabela’s or online? I’m still going to wait a little while to grab mine. It still looks like the best bang for the buck.

Hey Coot, Just tell her it was on SALE ! Thats what the wife tells me.

I hope you don’t end up like this dude and his crotch rocket!

Coot,
Another fan of the Lowrance M68c here. I’ve been using it for 4 years now. Works great. I’m going to upgrade to the ICE FISHING transducer as I smashed the cable on my “boat transducer” last year which I didn’t like anyway. I’ll also use the vexilar float as Kent mentioned.
I bought the X67c first, and loved it, but wanted a built in GPS, so I took it back and got the M68c. Even though they make an “ice machine” version, I just use a craftsman tool pouch, with a piece of 1/4" plywood in the bottom that I mount the battery and the fishfinder to. Battery is one of those $19.00 units from Sportsmans and has lasted 4 years now!

Kent, where online can I get the ice fishing transducer and the vexilar float for my Lowrance?

Thanks!
Randy

I have a 68c Ice Machine that I like a lot. I also use it the rest of the year as my dashboard sonar on my bass boat and keep my GPS locations in it.

LOL to funny terry to funny:face_with_tongue:

For what it’s worth, I’ve made several adjustments to some other finders for use on the ice. Such as fabricating “arms” to hold transducers level. But one of the best was when I contacted Vexilar and purchased, very cheap, a couple of their trademark floats to adapt to the cords of my finders.
Works great!
