That is a neat idea.
I liked that too but the problem I see is when the tube cools off it will shrink and the mount will be loose.A guy might have to tighten the strap to keep it from flopping, or sliding around or even going over into the water. Ron
When I use straps (like this or on my rod holders) I partially inflate the toon/tube. Then tighten and finish inflating so there will be a slight dent. That ensures it will NOT slip and doesn’t hurt the tube/toon at all.
Here’s my mount should be able to shorten it so it’s below the hiegth of the oar mount

Definitely possible. I make sure I have a snug setting and have to work to squeeze the clip closed to get a good preload like what FG does. I wonder if instead of a nylon web a bungee web would help? A little mat of raw neoprene under the base would also definitely add to the stiction to prevent movement, like the dashboard phone mats you can buy…

So are you saying…it does slide?
Not when it’s done “right and tight”.

That’s what I am talking about.
I cinch all straps tight while boat is still soft, then finish inflating.
I have pumped my float tube up in the heat of the afternoon tight. I stayed out until about 11:00 pm and by that time I had to get off the water because the float tube felt half full. After that I started to carry a pump, but I still get times when my tube gets cold and soon I am not happy. Ron
I understand. I have always had Urethane bladders and gotta say, they aren’t that touchy. Just my experience.
But I have left my older SFC inflated in the driveway and no problem. Left a Vinyl Bladder “U” tube right next to it, and BOOM.
One time in my old Browning tire tube model I pumped it up about 5 pm and stayed out to midnight walleye fishing. I couldn’t blow it up because I didn’t have a tire pump on me. I was VERY not happy that night. I got my FC4 right after that. Ron
I do the same so as to keep things from sliding off. Here is a pic.
Wow…that is allot of gear! Like the license plates…keeping it legal, even though legal makes no sense at times.

oh man, that looks great !!! I really like your toon.
You even have a good old fly rod there.![]()
Once I get a toon (maybe sooner then I think) I will
have a lot of stuff on it as well. Floating fly shop kinda
thing with troling motor, sonar, rods, cooler,tv, poker table
,camp fire…
You get the idea ![]()

How did you mount that buddy fish finder? Ron
Look close enough you will see two fly rods. I have another in a holder along side the seat on the right side in two pieces ready for some top water action that never appeared this week (yet).
Plates held on by velcro made out of plexiglass.
The buddy sits in an abs tube strapped to the toon. Works pretty good. Thought I might need to upgrade to a new humminbird if it didn’t work with the new license plates. May change anyway and attach it to the arm rest with a saddle clamp.
Here is another pic with a different view.
I picked up a small two way pump at the Cabelas bargain cave for 4.99 and carry that on my toon for incase situations. I keep it in one of the bags attached to the rack.
Kevin, how did you do over all at Jordenell?
