Old? 60s?
Yeah, that drew a Geezer Guffaw from me, also.

Water skiers, particularly those blasting music, are simply intolerable. I just won’t go on the water, or even fish from shore, while they’re out.
I’ll never understand why water sports are more enjoyable with deafening music.
I hesitated to post because I am turning into a salty old fart, but OLD FART LIVES MATTER. So, here are my thoughts. I fish to escape and for solitude and relaxation. I fish to get away from stupid people and the everyday rigamarole of life. I often fish alone, but I also like fishing with family and friends.
I find it disrespectful for someone to see that I am catching fish and move on in. By that I mean within talking distance. If the hard deck is crowded, then OK. What else can they do? But when there is wide open space for as far as the ice reaches. . . I find it disrespectful, inconsiderate and irritating. My very favorite is when I have my daughters with me and a crew of people come and set up near us and start using vulgar language loud enough for all to hear.
I do not mind a person seeing I am having success and coming up to ask what I am using or whatever. I have no qualms with sharing information or even giving out bait or lures I am having luck with. Heaven knows I have benefited many a time from the kindness and generosity of fellow anglers over the years when I have inquired as to their success. That is not what I am talking about.
I am talking about those who appear to believe that the lake is there for them and them only. Or that they are entitled to anything and everything for their convenience and success no matter what it costs others.
When someone else movies in on my space on the ice, I usually just tolerate or move. I stopped confronting people years ago, when it finally sank in that it does absolutely no good at all.
I don’t like to be too close because I’m not coordinated with casting, and I guarantee our lines will tangle if we’re within 50 feet of each other. It’s not on purpose, I’m just a clutz.
If you come into my space, I will move away if possible (barring any obsticals in the way like trees or bushes, where I CAN’T move away). If I arrive when other people are already set up, I try to be as far from as possible. If they come over to chat, that’s fine (though don’t expect much from me… timid/shy!)
I don’t ice fish, so hole sharing isn’t an issue ![]()
**Hey girl, where ya been and howya been? I think about the “bratty little kid” once in a while and hope you are doing well.
Wanna go fishing again when it warms up a bit? And with you, close is okay. I’m pretty good at dodging wild casts.

Hiya!
I’ve been slacking off! LOL
This year I was sick with health issues. Last year I was focusing my time on supervising at the cat shelter.
But this next year, I will get back to fishing! My doctor admonished me for not getting out more, and says I need to be more active… so, not only do I not have any excuse not to, I’ve sort of been prescribed to ![]()
And I am not bratty! [:P] LOL
**Hey, you got the right kind of doctor. A fishing prescription. I’ve always believed that fishing was good for just about anything that ailed ya. So listen to your doc.
You know I have never thought you were bratty. Well, maybe just the first time we met…when you showed up at the fish fry. I mistakenly equated your small stature as being a “bratty kid”. Since then you have proven that good things (and good people) come in small packages.
Let me know when you are ready to get your (fishing) prescription filled. Kinda reminds me of the expression “tugs is drugs”…the right kind of course. Habit forming and addictive, but in the best possible way.

I love you, Dude! I will always laugh at that scene!
When I first met Donna, I mentioned my divorce, and she said “You’re old enough to be married?!” LOL
But yes, fishing, as soon as it gets warm.
I’ve been thinking of doing some overnight camping at Willard, since they have electricity (to charge my oxygen machine). Then I can be on the water, first thing in the morning, instead of having to wake up horribly early at home and drive all the way out there first!
I like East Canyon too, but I can’t find any info if they have electricity. It says RV hookups, but I think those outlets are different than regular ones? I might need an adapter of some sort?
