# Headed to Strawberry

Taking the boat to Strawberry Friday. Anybody know the water temp ? How’s the fishing been recently? Are the boat ramps clear of snow ? Any info is appreciated.

Last day I was there was nov 30 water temp was 41.8 deg
boat ramp at strawberry bay was good no snow any place
I may go friday and fish for Kokanee as of Dec 1st you can start fishing for them again.
((How’s the fishing been recently?))
That is up to you, if you can find the fish, how you fish, and what you use.

You can probably still launch a boat there, but the ramps start getting slick this time of year as there is snow on the ground and some of the bays are probably just starting to get an ice-cap like Mud Creek, that first bay off the highway on the Soldier Creek side, etc. Watch for floating ice skiffs in the mornings… there will be people ice fishing said bays in another week or two, I’m sure, but the rest of the lake should be boatable for a little longer…

better take a bag of snow and ice melt, the ramp can get icy from the trailers getting pulled out.

My adult son and I went last Friday to Renegade with the boat. There was no snow or ice. The water temperature was 38.2 degrees. Shore fishermen (two guys 6 fish) and tube fishermen (one guy reported 7 fish) did much better than we did. We each caught one fish. Looking at the udot cameras at Daniel’s Summit across Strawberry Valley their is snow now after the storm Sun. and Mon. I have thought about going back up but fish from the shore near the Strawberry Marina with white tube jigs. I would not drive to Renegade especially with a boat.

Let us know if you were able to find any kokanee today. I’m thinking of bringing the boat up Monday as long as the roads and ramp are still clear and the weather isn’t too bad.
