Can anyone messageboard member provide info. as to the conducting capabilities of my nine foot graphite rod? I was told that graphite is a good conductor of electricity and as such I have my qualms about using it when it is raining for fear of being electrocuted. Please shed some light (no pun intended)

Yep
9 foot of graphite will conduct real well. Rain is not so much the problem. Lightning is.
Either way, if your fishing under these conditions then make sure you have rubber souled shoes or sandles on.
That’s the only way to reduce the risk of harm if you happen to get hit.
