Well, not really giving a hoot about the babes, that is one cool site. I now have two patterns I need to tie. Stoineflies are a comin’ so that pattern is a must, and the BLUE BUZZER, well, you know me and Chironomids. I want to try that in black with orange, red, and maybe a yelow with orange, brown. Like the looks. Even thinking some weight thread (like tungsten) at the eye, and a little less thread for the larger thorax. Hmmmmmmmm, thanks Mac:sunglasses:

Wooly Worm (with variations)

Hook: 2 x-long wet sizes 6-12
Thread: Black
Body: Chenille in different colors especially black and olive
Tail: Red wool
Hackle: Grizzly, palmered through body
I substituted the tail with red marabou cut very short. I also tied mine with a gold bead head. Of note I tied up a few of these without the hackle and both variations caught fish.

Ah it must have been the red marabou that enticed the fish to strike. I haven’t tie any wooly worms. If you guarantee that it will catch fish then I might have to have a few in my bag. Size 10 or 12 but no bigger. After all we have small fish down here.

the ones that worked best were a size 12.. and I can say for sure that they worked for the bluegills and other sun fish in TN…
