[:)] I finally got my first Elk, Saturday morning about 8am. I got a big cow, she weighed in just over 400lbs. I was very excited but was sad that the hunt was over so soon. Oh well there’s always next year.

Way to go dan. Thats a big old elk. I figure if you shoot the young ones you dont have so much work to do.
Congradulations on your hunt did you see alot of Elk? What area did you put in for? If you don’t mind me asking.
Yes we did see a lot of Elk on the hunt last Saturday. We were hunting up in Woodruff over by the fenceline of the Deseret Land and live area. First thing we saw were 5 Big Bulls, we used a cow call called a Hoochie Mama. The Call worked great we got within 75 yards or so to them before they went over the skyline. Then shortly after we ran into a herd of about 60 or so and the hunt was on. AFDan

There are some big old bulls that run around in that area on the winter range. rainbow sparkle filmed a bunch of them last winter. Did you happen to notice if woodruff res has ice on it yet?
