For fly line I use cortland 5wt floating double taper.
Berkley xl 6wt and 8wt for my fishing reels.

I prefer spinning reels, and my preferred line is 12 pound Nanofil. I like it because it casts really, really far and it’s easy to feel bites even on slack line. Found a great deal on it at Cabela’s this year, so I’m set for the next few years.
Only drawbacks are the abrasion resistance and low shock strength. It frays really easy, so I use a leader with some stretch for the last 5 feet or so.
On all my open faced reels which is all I use I like to use the 12 or 14 lb test Berkley Trilene sensation since it’s thin & strong, I like the clear best. Have had good luck with it as long as I change the line at least once a year or more. The only thing I don’t like about it is cause like most lines they tend to twist & create rats nests when the line isn’t put on the reel right.
