Favorite bass fishing lake?

For Small Mouths I hear Sand Hollow is the bomb. I never drive that far for them. .

Sand Hollow does not have small mouth in it…only Florida strain Largemouth and bluegill FYI.

Living in Southern UT, may go-to lakes are Quail, SH, & LP. Quail for size, SH for numbers, LP for both.

I will second Sand Hollow. Only fished it once, but it was great fun. Easily sight fished with a fly rod while wading, and the water is clear and warm. I am looking forward to a trip down there asap.

I like Pineview personally.. i always seem to have good luck there, motly smaller ones but i get some 3-4 lbs every few trips i go… crankbaits towards shore and retrieve out, along the weeds or platsic worms along rock bottoms… Mantua ive caught alot but never anything worth keeping.. but ive heard they are there, favorite place for top water, scum frogs kill it there for me.. hope this was helpful

Jordanelle…smallies

Valentine’s pond here in North East Arkansas… Everyone knows about it and there are people there fishing it everytime I go. But they are fishing for the Crappie.

Ones like this my best crappie in my life:

What most don’t know is that pond holds a lunker Arkansas bass we have named “The Valley Girl” She has broken my 14lb Spiderwire XXX super mono Twice and a few of my friends have hooked her and either had her break their line or she jumped so many times they just lost her.

We estimate her to be 12lb to 16lb. But the fish in this pond are so healthy and strong and when you hook her you know it. She will rip off 30 yards of line from the start even with your drag set heavy then she starts her “dance” and jumps, jumps, jumps and then is free again or you get her near the bank and she uses that last bit of energy and runs like a freight train and breaks your line.

That’s my favorite fishing hole just because I might hook her again and land her, get the photo, and release her.

The bass in this small pond are so healthy and no one understands its. the pond isn’t over 100 yards x 100 yards large. But it has some of the largest slab bluegill , Crappie and bass in our county.

And a good thing is that it’s a very good secret about the BASS in this pond. Most come here and bank fish for the big bluegill and crappie when they are hitting.

That’s my favorite fishing spot. I can go there and fish all day until my shoulder is sore and not even catch a bass but every cast I have that confidence and excitement that I might catch a HAWG.

The two fish I am holding in my profile pick are from that pond.

Mike.

I second East Canyon. Most are small, but I caught my biggest smallie in Utah out if there last summer. 17" - 4.8 lbs. I like Starvation too.

Mine would be Jordanelle for smallies and hyrum for largemouth. My PB came out of each one last year.

Yep, she was part quarterhorse. Had a huge gut on her. It was definitely a full-figured smallie! Hlaha

Guess you missed the post that I said that I admited to being wrong eh? Should have edited the original post to lessen confusion.

Thank you richyd4u for helping out a fellow member. Come to find out he realized his mistake but I’m sure he appreciates you correcting him.

Yep SH is full of bass of some type. I can gaurentee not white bass! Can’t wait to try them out. Bluegill = LMB.

Obviously you can understand my mistake. I sincerely apologize.
