I have a laker saver. The one that jim makes and I have saved several macs and even some big cuts on bear lake with it. They do work and they do save fish…
I hook my laker saver to my downrigger and it works really well. I highly recommend it.
I agree with hooking them to the downrigger. That seems to be the ticket for running them down quick with minimal time lost.

sweet looking fish, looks like you were in the same area as we were, the boat looks to be bigger and deep well. did you try to target any Kokes? I would think they are still not biting due to the cold water temp around 40.4 degrees. Has anyone noticed where the ice flows are at? I would be curious to know if anvil is completely open to the Pipeline.
I did not try for kokanee. I fished Anvil the next day and caught 4 lakers ranging between 28-32 inches. No ice to be seen up there. [fishin]
