Ira and I got up to EC yesterday, with 2knots, arrived around 6:30 am and were getting off the water around noon. Air temp was 50 degrees when we arrived, water temps were around 69 degrees when we first launched and were up to 71 before we left. Saw a deer that just about jumped in front of us on the drive in and an eagle while fishing. Overall the catching was very slow but as always the company was good. Only one Koke and three bows for our efforts but the bows are getting up to 3 lbs, nice fish. Our excuse was the full moon and the solunar calendar pointed to poor catching but you got to give it a try, right? Will have to give it another try soon, to see if our theory is correct.

At least you didn’t get skunked. I went up there a month ago (July 3) to give it a try and caught 1 koke and had one other on. Very slow that day as well. Lots of boats fishing for them and I never saw anyone else catch anything. I tried for smallmouth for a while and only caught 1 as well. I won’t be back until the fall when the water cools off again.
We were marking plenty of fish but for the most part, they were not interested. There were several fishing boats and a couple of wake boat before we left. It was much better two months back but it sure looked like a lot of people are chasing the kokes there, can’t say I’ve heard many people trying for the SM bass
Bill yes glad to be home except for the heat hear, with highs in the 60’s for most of our trip (which I prefer) it was a bit of a system shock to hit this weather lol
