I guess there is too much to charge for in Cali. Everything goes up every time they get the chance to raise it. Whether it be fishing licenses, fishing supplies, bait, tackle. You name it, it will rise.
I wont know about michigan untill about the end of february when the new license goes on sale, our license runs from the first of april to the last day of march, its an april fool who dosnt have he new license of the first of april here in michiigan
our stocking programs have been reduced as well .
the D.N.R. tells us that this has improved fishing in our lakes thou due to more food fish being availible to the stocked fish .
it could be the truth or a line of bull . only time will tell .
There is a whole herd of “Bulls” when they start talkin stuff like that here. They try to convince you that it is for the better when in reality, it is the first item on their cutback list.
Hi again theangler,
I can’t thank you enough for putting out that question. I spent a grueling 4 hour stint on the web and correlated a good bit of data on what the different states and the district of columbia gives to you and get from you.
Californians! You’re being ripped royal! Lots of different slants on fees according to different fisheries. Lots of states have a combo fish/hunt license for almost nothing! Most states 65 year olds can fish for free, some can fish just park ponds, some places you get a discout if you only fish part of the year, some have areas where it’s free to fish where others have stamps for certain areas and…the list goes on and on!
Great fun, thanks
JapanRon
i’de say so , riped off is putting it mildely !
i know the cost of living is higher or lower from state to state , but give me a break , california is getting the shaft bigtime !maybe a petition to investigate the use of your fishing dollers should be started .
vermonts gotten so,s they go up every year, 2.00 here 2.00 there, an excuse fer anythin if it isn,t ducks it,s geese, doe permits, more, use to be 1000 noq 12.00 and nothin bacjk in return,.
iwell i,ll give em that there doin more fer handicapped access, which is good just wish they,d done it sooner so,s i could of taken ma more. and doin some cleanups in the state woods, but then people colunteer to do that anyways, it,s not like the state pays em. they,ve let the fish and game departments go fer so long and done nothin now there realizin they should of been doin this along time ago. cause the animals pay fer it, as always, ya know what i mean??? i belive this is only gittin done now because we finally got a good guy in there, jim douglas. he,s done alot, and is watchin out fer our fishin and huntin, which is tickin some off i,ll tell ya. ahha i love it! we had somne broad runnin it, sayin they shouldn,t be shootin momma bears. what are we suppose to do wait till the bear is ready to attck and look to see if its a female or not when she he gits that close, haha or git under there and check, haha not me george! ahha if she has her cubs with her noone will shoot her, butif she don,t how do they know its not a mle. da!nope i,m not checkin haha later[:)][;)]

WRONG! woinder whos puttin it their pocket? TOWN! THEY GIT ENOUGH OF MY TAX MONEY. THEY AINT GITTIN NO MORE! that pond was given to the town a century ago from the kennedys. somehow, its screwy, sombody lined somebodys pockets to be able to take ait awy from the towns people. i think that was rotten. it was left fer the kids and people that lived in windsor. thats somethin too.built them ugly comdiminiums around the pond then posted the land. that sucks! and ticks me off. i guess if ya got money, you can do anythin, i use to go ridin all my ponies out there fishin nd huntin, rotten,.[:(]![]()

Camping and overnight stays cost extra, Patches. Along the Cache La Poudre River and Canyon, northwest of Ft. Collins, and one of the best meditation places in the state, is littered with pull-in spots, for $10/day, reservations in advance and no cancellation or refunds. I’ve been stopped there, just sitting and enjoying the sights, sounds and serentity, and told to move because a stop was by reservation only – and I was the only one there on a week day afternoon.
Today, I read in the paper where hunting and fishing licenses will be going up, starting in 2005 plus an extra .75 cents for environment improvements. From what little I’ve been able to find out about this extra six-bits is that it will be used to improve river and lake access. However, that access is on private land and NOT accessible to the ordinary fisherman. Somebody must have made a large donation to someone in the system.
I’ve discovered that more and more lately, or else I just hadn’t been paying attention (just paying). There are numerous lakes that are posted, “No trespassing. Violators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.” or words to that effect. These are lakes that could be enjoyed by many, but are reserved for the few. These are fishing areas stocked with state fish, paid for by the taxpayer. And now, more of my money is going to enhance these areas for a select few (latest estimate - $1.3 million per year). Now that really gets my short hairs up.
[:(]that is outrageous!!! yeah benefittin somebody alright. i think still fer this little pond here someone is too. id be likein to know just whos and whats goin on in them stinkin condiminiums over htere. somethin is. whos linin whos pockets?? and what fer.?? ya know what i mean??? and these little town cops dont dare do nothin bout it, or there gittin lined too. i know one along time agao that was fer sure this little petty as town, thats where they like to go though. thats where we all got to watch whats goin on in our little towns fer it gits to the pont they got power and control over everythin. and the first thing they invest in is realty and land. from the bottom up. ya know?? but thats another story. huh??? YEssa! anyways seems the states ought ot be able to have a set price fer everythin and leave it. and not to be avle to just pull over to the side of the road is outrageaous. NO CONTROL THERE HUH??? NO POWER PLAYS THERE HUH?? THOSE ARE THE TYPES I LIKE BRINGIN DOWN! WHO DO THEY THINK THEY ARE?? that sure is somethin.
Here in New Jersey we Don’t have a saltwater license they try to push one through about every 2 years but we fight it and win the RFA helps out alot in this fight the reason we win is they aren’t going to put the revenue back into the resourse but instead put the money into the states general fund which serves no purpose from a fishermans point of veiw Our resident freshwater license is fairly inexpensive but the Trout stamp brings the price up A non resident annual license is $54.00 including the trout stamp a resident license is $33.00 including trout stamp and if you only fish Saltwater you don’t need a license
Our resident is about 33.00. If you want to fish out in the salt then it is about 3.00 more. They really sock it to the NON residents though. That one is alot more.
must be a tourist tax , huh ?
I may have to disagree with you on that one only because they stated “No New Taxes”. This one is just a new “Fee” that they tag on to the tourist. LOL
a rose by any other name still hurts like heck when you get stuck with it’s thorn , lol !
