# Devils Creek 12/31/07

Went up to Devils creek today, I can’t say we really slayed the fish but I did manage to catch around 8 to ten fish. 5 of the fish were in the 16 to 17 inch range and the rest were just little planters. I caught all my fish on a Maniac Ice cuttr in the white with the red flake tipped with a meal worm. Fishing was pretty fast until around 11:00 then slowed right down to nothing. All in all it was a fun first trip to Devils on the Ice.

Thanks for posting your report Brian, were there many folks fishing there today? I know years ago there use to be kokanee in Devils creek, do you know if they are still in there?

There wasn’t a hole lot of people up there. Maybe a couple of dozen or so. I’ve heard of them being caught up there still. That was one reason I wanted to try it.

The F&G typically plant fingerling kokanee in Devil Creek every spring but according to the online stocking records none were planted in 2007. Last week I caught a couple kokanee out of Devil Creek. They would have been the fingerlings planted in 2006. Here’s a link to the report along with some pictures of fish including the kokanee.
