Anyone know if the ice has come of DC? I am hoping to take the boat out there sunday if the ice is off .Its usually great fishing once the ice comes off. If not i guess i can shore fish.

I saw that post too, the one that says it was open, but when I was at cabelas and looked at their fishing report board, it said that it was only open along the edges. So I would love a confermation fo this too.

Hey, any tips for a first timer at DC? I have access to float tubes, kayaks, and camping chairs. Any hints on location, etc… would be much appreciated. The GF and I are headed up saturday.

The State Park and Rainbow Bay areas are usually pretty productive for trout. You can’t go wrong with either a Powerbait or Worm/Marshmallow combo. If you have float tubes and like to fly fish, I have done well this time of year stripping minnow patterns. Hope that helps. Good luck and give us a report.
