Got a small bump last night 8-7-14 from Cutler it measured 24.5" for the cat and 25" for the carp. J

That works Jeff. But hate to tell ya, some of them young southern whipper snappers have been into as big as a 27" carp, and in that category - there can be only one! It was on a bow too.
Been up airport road and seen a whole flock of them podding up - bit too far for a fly cast, maybe if I could walk the shore better. Think my arrows would loose their oomph to that distance. BUT - a big snagging treble could be trouble! I need to go show 'em some “love”.
Soon as I’m done chasing Kokes, I’m gonna get back after some cats (try for some summer bass-crappie too I hope). Maybe see ya sat?[/b]

Don’t know if you noticed or not, but I had a 27" cat fish up higher in my chain that you didn’t score or mention if it was good or not… Don’t want you to miss that one since it’s my best to date… On the carp, I have caught several bigger this year, one was right at 28", with the rod, but haven’t taken pictures of them, but last night I was on the bank and it was easier to get a photo than it is in the toon so I figured I’d get a starting mark to work at beating… Guess my Saturday plans changed, have other family members coming for a visit so I won’t get to fish… Getting harder to catch a fish that bumps up my score… Now I see why there isn’t a lot of movement in the upper end of the contestants… I still have some room to improve though… Thanks for updating this… J

Badabing, badaboom! And like that this boy is creeping to the top! Making up for a slow start with this summer night fishing! Maybe I could join you sometime, learn how it’s done! Think I’m about done chasing Kokes, and time to think about changing directions. Got my Mojo (motor) humming, and reading for floating. Though I think banking at night might be preferred.
Way to go Jeff! You’re on your way up. Keep at it and you’ll tag a 30" to the score board. Did you find it in your usual spot or did you go on a hunting trip for it?
Hey thanks Mike, I got it in the same ole spot. Only had an hour and a half so went to the easy spot where I could drive to and not have to float. Had a carp pull my pole in right off the bat as I was getting set up so had to take a swim / wade right off the start. Hate getting wet at night but it wasn’t too cold. Lucked out and stepped on my pole so I was able to fish it out. Got another 24" carp early too and finished the morning with this kitty. My biggest cat I’ve ever caught and measured is 28" so I might get a new personal best if I get lucky. I keep hoping. Later J
