Casting a fly with a spinning reel

Hey Matador, you’re safe with any fishing story as long as you don’t start it with “This is no sh–, but”

I was in the Madrid mission in 82-83. I served in Madrid and Alcala(as well as others). I haven’t been back. I hope you have fun going back. I would like to someday, but hey man, I’m poor. I can barely afford to fish, even when I have time.

My wife’s uncle was in Madrid about that time…he might have left just as you got there. His name is Clem Acedo from Tempe, AZ.

In Alcala we’ll be staying with Paco Serrano and his wife Susi (can’t remember her apellido, but she worked in the misison office as a teenager. Clem says that almost any elder that went through there should know her.) They’re close friends of my wife’s family.

We’re poor too, so this may be the only trip we take for a lot of years. We got a great deal on an Internet fare. I doubt we’ll be able to go back for a while once we have kids.

That’s cool you two. My brother in law went to Spain on his mission as well. I’m not sure which mission, but his name was Chad Rice. He was the A.P. for awhile, but he’s been back like 6 years or something like that. I went to Nicaragua. Got back in '01.

You guys are just younsters.(I’m actually jealous)

shrimp_boy,

I don’t remember that name. I was only in Alcala for 2 months, and that was over 20 years ago. Let’s see if YOU remember everyone from your mission twenty years from now. [;)] Maybe if I saw a picture I would recognize them.
