HnH is a great guy, we get along great, I share as much as I know… partially [sly], Any how, PACKFAN i’m going too make it down one of these days, schedule just keeps filling up… between bowfishing and taking the family out on Vacation, Just spend the week down in the Chico, CA area with a good bowfishing friend, Your on the list too come visit… Glad you had a great time, i’m going too make it up one day when your up there and we will go out and compare notes on those perch [;)]

Matt I have two trips planned to Cascade for the hard deck fishing one in Jan. the other in Feb. ice permitting. I will also try to make another trip up next summer my son and I enjoyed it we had three great days of fishing together. How did your tournament go in Calif.?

Had an awesome time, fun week in CA, don’t want too live there thou, too far too drive too Idaho, we got 16/46 teams, not bad not great,the Delta is different but fun!

Becoming a great angler requires a person to continually learn new things. I’m a fairly accomplished angler and I still strive to keep learning more - in fact, call it a passion. Every video, article, seminar, etc that I see, makes me that much more knowledgeable on the water. Never lose the desire to learn more and learn from others.
The only time I have ever been glad to see Calif. was on my return trip from Viet Nam, and I got on a plane as soon as I could to get me back home to Wis.
The technique my son and I used was something I began using for perch back in the late 90’s on ( At That Time) Yuba one of the best lakes in Utah for jumbo perch, it still holds the state record for a perch I believe. They had to drain the water level to do repair on the dam in early 2000’s and the perch & walleye fishery never did rebound. The same method also works well at Starvation for perch. I, like you find that there is always something new you can learn, especially when fishing in different areas in the states and Canada.
Packfan thank you for your service. Trolling along contours is an excellent way to search out for the perch.

Guilty as charged. I owe Packfan an apology. I hope to get an opportunity to make it genuine someday and offer my regret face to face and shake his hand. Must of been a bad day on my part.
May see you guys on the ice this next season, My son wants to go back up and try them on the hard deck which will probably be about mid Jan. and the wife and I are planning on a return trip this winter the middle of Feb. It’s time for us to start chasing Kokanee now, with a couple trips out for walleye mixed in. You all have a great summer and as they say " Wishing you tight lines".

Good luck on the Kokes and very well could see you on the ice. It’s been a good season on Kokes here in the treasure valley. Very large again this year. Now we go and throw flies at the trout rivers for a week and then focus on Cascade a couple times July.
I miss fishing for them at Anderson, the wife and I use to make a trip up every summer but haven’t done that in a few years, I use to stay at a relative’s place in Mt. Home but he had been very sick the last few years and we lost him this past Jan.
Sorry for your loss. Anderson the last 2 years has consistently produced bigger kokes. May not catch 20 or 30 like the old days but probably getting the same if not more amount of meat.
