I was up to Cascade on Thursday. I launched from Boulder Creek. No docks were in the water when I launched in the morning. At one point I was down near Poison creek and I noticed that the docks were in there. When I returned to Boulder creek at the end of the day, the docks were in the water.
Fishing was slow for me. I caught about 10-12 perch in 6 hours, of which I kept 3. All of those were caught in the morning. The ones I caught were deep (22 FOW or more). I also caught one small trout in some very shallow water. The perch I caught had “ripe” eggs and appeared to be ready to spawn, but the males were not emitting any milt. It appears to be too early still? Or perhaps it was just a bad day.
I am going to be in the McCall area this weekend and wouldnt mind trying fishing Cascade with my daughter. Any suggestions for fishing from shore? Locations and methods?
Is it worth trying right now?
Been by Lake Cascade numerous times but have never stopped to try fishing there.
Bank fishing is good at Cascade right now as well. Worm and marshmallow for trout. Worms slowly dragged across the bottom for perch. Reeeeeeeeeaaaaaaallllllyyyyy slooooooooow…
