There’s a buck that’s been out in the back yard that I hope makes it till next year. I have only seen him once. The opening of the archery hunt I got to look at him as he walked over the next hill. None of us had a camera (of course) but from the guesses, he is somewhere from 31-34 wide, around 22-26 high. He had good mass but not huge mass. At least 4 on each side with a couple of cheaters off the right side. I was too busy trying to guess size to get an accurate count. I haven’t gone looking for him since the regular season, but I hope he is still out there. I will have a camera anytime I go out now from now on, so if he does show up, you will get to see him too.
This is the buck that I got. I shot him at noon on Saturday (Last day for the church goers like myself) at 450 yards. I wish that I could say that I hit him all 9 of the shots but I can’t. The only shots that connected were 1, 4, 7, 8, 9. He isn’t as big as I had hoped but he’s a good buck to have in the freezer. He field dressed at just about 200 lbs. He is about 22" wide and was at least 4 years old. He was taken on the Fishlake Forest in the Southern Unit.

Nice job. I hunted hard for 3 days near Fish Lake and only saw one tiny 2 point.

That is a very nice deer. Congrats. Also congrats to everyone who had success this year.
That deer is a great example of a good control buck. Lobster claws isn’t what a gene pool needs.
Don’t worry those big bucks you were seeing will get bigger and smarter and they’ll still be there for next year, if they live through the poaching season and lions.
I was there to and we saw a 2 point. When were you there, and where were you hunting? We might have seen each other.
I was there Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and we were near the top of North Last Chance.
