Glass rods - hmmm
I had asked a collector of antique bamboo rods about whether glass rods were collectible. He said they were not worth anything. What you are saying about the old Winstons, Russ Peaks etc makes more sense to me.
I understand that the glass rods of today are nothing like the old glass rods.
Nothing is like the old days LOL It is true however. They have been able to fine tune glass more these days just like Bamboo. Parabolics for one. There was you so to speak Sears Specials back then and there was their way ahead of their times
I still have a few of those Sears specials. They were hand-me-downs from TubeDude.
Just like Martial arts, Flyfishing Gear is handed from father to son all through the generations.![]()
I do believe that I have a 3,5 and 7 wt of the Sears brand. They still work too.![]()
There is no offense taken my friend.
I can’t wait till we can get together and get some fishing and fishing lessons in. I’m sure you will get to see some new stuff that you may consider adding to your arsenal as well.
I do enjoy flyfishing alot. The bubble/fly technique makes it all the more interesting.
There are a few ways to set up on the Salty bubble/fly rig and there are also a few diffferent options on the freshwater version.
All the different style are cool and fun to learn.![]()
Yeah, i have my dear old Dad’s Wright McGill fiberglass rod and automatic reel.
When I started fly fishing that is what I was using.

very cool! I have two different Perrine automatics one green anodized and one a rusty colored brown anodized. I’d have to look at the reels again to tell ya the model #'s but they work like champs yet.

**Oh yes I do remember from HS that a latilda goes over the 1st N but then I would have open Word to insert that N. Thus **MAÑANA. Do you have a short cut for that process?
I went into an English to Spanish dictionary to get the tilde “N” and the accent mark above the “I” in Si .. I went to summer school in Monterrey and Mexico City, Mexico back in college and wish I would’ve had the net back then.. its almost too easy nowdays [:)]
Likewise I inherited my Dad’s fishing gear when he passed away. Here is a link the post I made earlier ths year:

I beleive you can do that if you go to insert symbol off the insert menu… then go to latin symbols… just a guess…
MAÑANA - True but you still have to open Word don’t you MacFly?
