# Bear lake report 11/03/07

Wiperslayer and I fished the big blue lake today hoping to catch some of those big spawning lakers. Even thought we were marking them in good numbers we did not get any in the boat. We decided to fish a spot near the marina and did manage to catch a few cutts, one even had a tag in it. Saw Bearlakefishguy there but I’m not sure how he did, hopefully he will post a report or chime in here. WH2

Well I fished the lake Sat morning with a friend whom I told how well I did last week Saturday. I cursed myself!!! We were the first boat out there at 7:00am while it was still dark. We trolled, we jigged, we caught NO fish!! The lake trout are done spawning and should be turning on to the post spawn feed any day. Hey, at least the weather was nice though. I made it home at 11:30, ate lunch, dropped the fishing gear and boat, loaded up the truck with my trusty A-5, 32" barrel shotgun, decoys, and new puppy and hit the marsh from about 12:30-4:00. We both shot limits of ducks and had a great time. The puppy made seven retrieves and my friends dog made the other seven retrieves. It made up for the slow fishing. We both shot exactly the same thing: three mallards, one pintail, three teal. We passed up literally hundreds of pintail, shovelers, and red heads.

After reading all your great reports lately we were very surprised how poor the catching was but thats fishing. At least you had a great day hunting and it sounds like your new dog is going to be a good one. Thanks again for loaning us your flashlight.
Hey Scott, who do I call about that tagged fish I caught?

Curt to bad the fishing was slow but it beats the hell out of doing yard work[crazy]!!!You can guess what i did!! Nice looking dog Scott glad you got into some quackers!!! M.H.

Looks more like BEAR LAKE DUCK GUY. But then you are that too. Good on ya. It looks like she likes to hunt as much as she likes to be fishing with you in your boat.

Yea, I know all about yard work, I’ve been doing too much of that lately[crazy].
