hello where is susky sounds like a place me and the boy would like to fish is it acessable by boat or only shore and is there camping near by looking for someplace for me and the boy to catch some walleye and have som fun also any other sugestions would be great
The susky is the river that runs through Harrisburg. Susky is short for the real name that i have no idea how to spell lol. I never fished if but i plan to once i get my new bigger boat, im sick of fishing out of a 12 footer lol.
i ain’t fishin up in PA but i am fishin in AL and it ain’t half bad!!!
North western fisherman here. I usually fish the Clarion River, haven’t caught any trout yet but caught a couple nice walleye before they were in season a couple of weeks ago. My other two usual fishing spots are Kahle Lake and Kyle Lake. Anyone ever make it out this way?
Hi jonboaterich! Welcome to BFT! We are glad to have you. I Do make it to the Northwestern part of the state a good bit but i never fished any of the places you have mentioned. When i go out that way i fish the Pymatuning and Erie. I also fish lake arthur but that is more western. Do you fish any of these lakes?
Thanks for the welcome! I bought a Erie stamp this year with high hopes on making it up there this year, on a charter if I can swing it. I have been to Pymatuning a few time when I was just a lad.
Erie is a blast! Even if you cant get a charter this year go to the bay. If you don’t have your own boat there are plenty of places to fish it from the shore. your will get yourself some nice bass. Speaking of boats, don’t be afraid to take a little boat out on the bay. It don’t really get that rough out there at all. I seen people out there on little 10’ john boats and they were doing just fine.
You should head back to the pymatuning. lots of great places to fish. I love it up there. The lake is so big that there is a good chance you will be able to find your own little honey hole where no one will bother you.
are the fish in the susky good to eat or only for fun.i like to catch fish for fun but in the spring and early summer i like to put some walleyes and other panfish in the freezer

I was on the sussy yesterday, on the Goldsboro side of shelly island and was roping the smallies.Bunch of small ones, but we had 4 fish that were worth bragging about.I caught 1 that was about 22" a real hawg, and another around 20". My friend that was with me caught 2 in the 17 to 19" range. what a great day on the river.they are still there!!!
Hey MPW, welcome to the BFT, sounds like you guys had an awesome day on the water! Me and my dad went up to lake Erie to fish for some smallies and we had a blast! in 2 days we boated like 150 fish or so. thats not including all the ones that threw the hook. I plan on posting more about that trip as soon as i get the pictures off my camera.
