Abyss at UL? Shoot, did I say the "A" word?

True enough.

Thats why in certain waters one must possess enough common sense to not share all their info or brag it up by blasting it all over the internet, all in the name of popularity lol

Just my .02 cents

I agree with you there. Especially for small bodies of water that don’t need/can’t handle lots o’ pressure. I do like helping folks out but unfortunately I have helped some only to show up later and have those areas invaded by a bazillion new folks. Nothing wrong with having secret spots either. In my experience most of the places I thought were not that well known were actually known but not hit by a ton of people. No need to advertise them too much unless you want more folks to come invade your space [:)]

Never been to the place before, but with a little bit of research on-line I was able to find coordinates. Has any one fished there with success in the spring summer or fall?

Lavaman you have over 2000 posts on a public fishing forum and you are disgusted when people go where you told them and try what you told them to try? Interesting logic. Just saying.[unimpressed]

All I can say is I really appreciate everyone’s help from this forum. It’s hard moving to a new state and starting over learning fishing spots. I’ve also been one to to keep passed on information to myself (and wife and daughter). This information is used to get on the fish so I can keep the girls interested. I still look forward to learning some walleye tips from you all, but I open to fishing with you guys to learn that. Besides you could always DM people so “it’s not all all over the Internet”

There’s no such thing as “secret spots” anymore. Google Earth and GPS exist.

**Most who fish it hit it during the winter…by following the tracks in the snow from others who preceded them. And without GPS numbers it is hard to find otherwise…even by folks who know where it is.

There are a few who fish it from boats at other times of the year. There are always fish there…especially cats during cooler months. They like the warmer water. Other fish like the warmth too but the inflow from the springs is mineralized and not agreeable with more delicate species.

I have had a couple of reports of guys finding catfish at all levels of the water column during the summer. But not nearly the numbers of white bass that hang out there during the winter. And virtually zero walleyes during the warmer months.

Short answer? There are better spots around the lake when the ice is gone.

Yeah, Bovine…over the years you learn what you can and can’t say on a public forum. You’ll learn that too I suppose.

You will find that there are a lot of member who posted a lot at one time and don’t any more because of the issue at hand. As said previously, there are spots that are known and are delicate, but it is not a good idea to advertise it on a forum where a lot of people will see. This was one of the many reasons the new premium report board was started.

Hate to derail this topic a bit, but is that signature a Ron Swanson quote?

Good call.
