There are a lot of things I know from personal experience. Other things I think I know from conducting my own research. Still other things I present only as “this is what I heard”.
Whenever my statements are challenged by someone who obviously has more personal involvement with the issue, I bow in deference to the greater knowledge. I have my pride and ego, but I try not to let it get in the way.
I know PBH to be unquestionable in his background and knowledge of all things to do with Utah fisheries, proclamations, species management, etc. Yeah, he likes to get “involved” and “stir the pot” once in awhile but he has helped settle some “discussions” in the past that required his depth, knowledge and understanding of the issues being debated.
Otherwise, we try to keep an open mind on the board and to allow all members to express their own opinions. We will moderate to discourage personal attacks and flaming, but will keep a thread alive as long as it is productive and not inflammatory.
Thanks to all members who stay within bounds and make this a great forum. Makes it a lot easier to be a moderator.
