WH2- thank you! We only have one lake with wipers out here and they are a little rare, not the norm. I will continue to post videos of trout fishing and monster striped bass fishing, even carp on fly. I guide for anything that swims in our waters haha!! Fly, and light tackle, just no bait...

Kenny was asking me about how to fish that lake for wipers and since every lake is different, it is hard for me to say what would work there and thought you might have some advice. I was very suprised this week when I took a guy out fishing on one of our local lakes that has wipers and he caught one on a fly. He was using a streamer and a heavy wt rod with sinking line but I never would have thought it was possible.

Yeah wipers are great on flies, they love streamer patterns! The ones i have caught were on flies or smaller jerkbaits when they were chasing fry and the smaller shad. Keep in mind, flies can be anywhere from micro midge patterns to 9+ inch trout imitations for pike. The wipers are cool because its also the time when the white bass are around and both of them have these deep body styles. When they get sideways on you its hard to turn them, awesome fighters for flyrods! Good luck out there!
