Looked like about half of the lake was still locked up when I went across the bridge on Sunday.
Still patches of ice around the bridge also. [signature]

With 23 to 24 inches of ice where we fished a few weeks ago it might take a few more days. I have a good friend who drives by it daily and he usually lets me know when ice is off.

Fished yesterday from a boat. Ice by the dam and a little by Camper world. Able to launch with no problem from the State park marina. BTW fishing was excellent for Starvation steelhead by the inlet.

I drove across the bridge this morning. The only ice I could see was thin ice formed over night in the backs of small coves/bays. It looked wide open looking to the north and south of the bridge. The ice came off fast. Two weeks ago we were fishing on two feet of ice.

I drove up to the State Park main boat ramp and parking area to check on ice conditions today. As huntnchucky said there is still an ice sheet by the dam extending into Knight Hollow and Saluratus Wash. It is breaking up pretty fast with large chunks of ice floating around out from the boat launch area. So beware of drifting icebergs.
[inline "N to Knight Hollow.JPG"] Out from the boat ramp and the rest of the lake to the Strawberry River inlet is pretty much open except in the very back of some of the bays. [inline "Boat ramp beach area.JPG"] [signature]
