drumking, Chickamauga, Crappie, October 26, 2011, Bobber7
#1
I fished with a new CFFer today. Bobber7 from near Kingston, Tn came down for a crappie lesson. It was brutal conditions, with wind finally white capping the river and giving us a tough ride back to HBSP. We only managed to get 26 small crappie with maybe 5 of those being between 11 and 13.5 inches long. Nearly all fish were deep. We are talking 15 to 20 count and dead sticking a lot. Fish were tiny. I told Bob that it takes great skill to catch crappie as small as we were catching today.

Bob is a great guy and I am going to go up to his neck of the woods and explore the area that he lives in. He lives on the lake and has crappie under his dock, but is sort of struggling to find fish elsewhere. I don't know if I can help or not, but we are going to try when we get good stabilized weather.

Thanks for driving down today, Bob. Wish that the fish were normal Chickamauga sized crappie, but someone let the nursery out and fish are everywhere. Not many teachers in the bunch. emoBigSmile emoGeezer
