Put in at BTW just after noon.

The Ranger was slightly concerned, Her: “You going out there in that?” Me: “I’m gonna try, may be the shortest fishing trip ever.” Her: “Be careful.” I'm glad I went ahead and went fishing. I had fun and caught a few fish.

The water was very choppy and the wind kept me from staying on spots I wanted to fish. I didn’t run the lake too much because I took a beating when I tried to cross it. I tried 7 different spots. I caught fish on 5 of ‘em, mostly small ones. I ended with 6 keeper crappie, 15-20 total. The biggest is pictured below. Most fish came on blue ghost or blue ice BG.

It was great to be back on the water. It is too bad that I have to put in lots of hours when, from the crappie reports I’ve read, fishing is picking up.
