I can't be of much help with your question but I used the search function above and typed in "Doc Warner", here is a link to several post about it:

I was up there in july was a great time, gold and pink pixies was the ticket with for silvers, And the best fishing was a place called Home shore in front of the Log dump, Best Halibut fishing was at Marys flat. For the silvers i put a 5 gallon bucket behind the boat it slowed us down just wright

I have ben there a couple time in years past and I would have to agree with Hydrofish. They do sell tackle there with nor much mark up from stores here so you can get it there. I take some large dodgers and large squid in pink, green and glow just for starters.

Have also been there a few years back. Time of year far more important than tackle as far as improving catch-rate for silvers.

I would agree timing is the key. Silvers are extremely aggressive eaters/ biters in salt and fresh water. They tend to attack any lure or fly thrown their way. Much more voracious than other salmon.

Chartruese Hoochy (Squidy) behind a chrome 4-6 inch dodger. Try get the weights that are colored as well, pink, chartreuse, or orange seem the best.
You might also try a blue and white tube fly behind a 6 inch blue dodger, that seems to work the best on sunny days. Also, if you have time in juneau run to the store and buy about 6 packs of green herring. They are small enough you can fish the whole herring. That seems to be a better bait than the horse herring fillets that Doc's provides you. They will let you store the herring in their freezer, but make sure other guests to "borrow" them. [signature] |
