Introduction

Ive been lurking around a while and decided to register. Just wanted to introduce myself.My name is Mario and I live in Long Island New York. I fish freshwater only and have been fishing out of a kayak for a while now. I found out about this site from ATFISHING on another forum. I just got an ODC 420 this week and took it out for a few hours this morning. So far it's great and I cant wait to get back out on it. Lot's of good info on this site and I'm glad to be here.

[cool][#0000ff]Welcome aboard. You should enjoy the 420. Lots of inshore saltwater fishing opportunities in your area. Basically, wherever you can drop your craft in the water you can enjoy some good light tackle fishing. Just watch out for the spiny critters. They can shorten your trip.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Also lots of small lakes around your state...if you can find some that allow tubing. As I understand it New York is very progressive in a lot of areas but not when it comes to float tubing.[/#0000ff]

How was the ride? Isn't that where the Hurricane is? If the ODC can take that, I say you are good for just about anything.
Watching the news, just saw a life guard shack go floating by, seen anything like that?

Thanks for the warm welcome. I actually don't fish any salt right now only fresh. I've been thinking about trying some stripers soon though. I'm getting hit by Irene right now! Pretty direct hit to where I live on Long Island. So far I have a broken basement window. Power? Haven't had that for hours. Lol. Wonderful inventions smart phones are. Hopefully the power/Internet is back on today. No electric is no fun.

The power just came back on about an hour ago![laugh]

I guess sometimes I have my priorities a little backwards, but I'm pretty serious about fishing. Just getting to my favorite time of year. From fall until ice up I seem to land my best fish. Especially when it's close to freezing and nobody else even thinks about getting on the water.

I was back out in the tube before work this morning for a couple hours. Only managed one Largemouth about 15 inches dragging a worm. The water cooled off a lot and was very stained from the storm. I was happy to get that. []

Im still having some issues with getting my position just where I want. I keep having the desire to want to move forward from my location and when I spin around and try moving in that direction I loose the position. I'm sure it will come in time. I covered a lot of water today for the short time I was out.
