Hey Lava thanks for a very fun and laid back day of fishing!!!! You killed it today! Not a bad day when you catch:

Tiger Muskie
Channel Cat
Muddy Buddy
Carp
Blue Gill

Lava is becoming a Muskie Man for sure!!!

Kind of makes you forget about the morons who decided 15 feet away from me was enough room to start the morning.

Thanks Lunker, we had a good time for sure. Five species in one day, I'm starting to feel like TD. Must be the lucky t-shirt and hat.

The Tiger Muskie is my 2nd ever, so that made my day right off the bat.

To save some folks the time, all fish were caught on marsh-mellows, salmon eggs, and WD-40 (or a combination of the three).

They were biting lightly today, had to be quick with the set, and even then most were barely hooked. But hooked non-the-less. Too many danged Mudders, not enough Tigers, and even a decent Channel decided to play. Too bad we couldn't get more 'Gills. (Or maybe it was a Green Sunfish but I doubt it? Maybe somebody in here can identify.)

Day of fishing beats a good day working, as the saying goes.

I don't think either of you guys are innocent! And texting fish-photos to a guy stuck behind his desk at work is just plain cruel! (but thanks anyway)

I'll get mine - a full week camping and fishing in the Sawtooths - that'll do me right!

Quite the variety pack there. Must've moved around a bit 'eh? But - no walleye! Now when you out those carp - slide the blade down along the backbone - get some fresh bloody fillets for catfish bait!

Ready for the Smoker yet Lunker? Missed the weekend's session. Hmmm Salmon! Had a smokin' trifecta - chicken, pork, and salmon. Hmm Hmmm good!

I bet you two had a fun morning. I am hoping to get into a few more bass out here around Vernal over the next couple of weeks. Was going to head out this eve, but a buddy invited me to go play on a bigger boat, and I accepted the invite. But, there is still plenty of time.

No WD-40 was used. I've seen others use it, unfortunately.

I had to say though! I've never seen anything like Lava's action yesterday. He had a 2 pole permit and without fail and I'm not exaggerating this at all. He would get a bite on his floater then almost with in seconds his other pole would mess with him. I was laughing pretty hard cause it must have happened every single time he got a bite!!!! One would go then he would hook it or miss it then just toss his pole and grab for the other one......the funniest was when he had 2 fish on....he lost a good one one that was on his float...jumped and was gone...but he did catch the mudder that was on his other pole....hell I don't remember if it was a mudder or not! I just know he wasn't sharing the fish catching with me! But had a great time!

When you say it people tend to believe it so I must admit I took the hook on that. Although it seemed fishy to me. I should have realized that if you guys didn't name the place (but I know where it is) that you sure as hell would not have been telling the truth about the bait used. I guess I should stick to my twin's advice "only believe half the ($!#^) "crap" that comes outta a fishermans mouth"! I will probably never trust your reports ever again.

By the way that is a bluegill.

Can someone tell me why a little spray of WD-40 is bad for the environment? I get that the whole can dumped in the water would be bad but why such a little amount. I hear guys saying that it works because it is made from a fish oil or something but I have not tried it yet.

Because it is "OIL" and NO it is not fish oil by any means. There are plenty of SAFE additives, or you could leave all the smell and taste off and try your skill....(I am kidding, by the way)[laugh][laugh][laugh]

Do you know what WD-40 stands for?

Water Displacement Factor- it was the 40th formula they tested. Never meant to be a lubricant, or a fish-flavor. But I have heard it's made from fish oil.
Alot of the commercial "scents" I've tried seem pretty danged oily when they hit the surface. With as much gas and fumes as the powersquad puts out.... but then the fish aren't biting their tailpipes, though sometimes wish they would!

Here's a map. Maybe it'll help. [:p] I know these super secrety Musky Masters like to keep their secrets!
FWIW - I don't think those channels came from the same place as the Musky (was that one Musky in two shots?)

That's tuff man - when the fish keep you so busy you can't even stop to slurp your soda, or other chilled beverage!

Thanks for posting that map, Coyote. You saved me the trouble...I was going to post the same thing

It's kinda nice sometimes when some folks don't 'trust' my reports.

Seriously though those who know me, know that I don't take things so seriously like half the posters in here. Life is too short. Relax: Be considerate. Be kind. Be helpful.

Oh wait..I almost forgot. That's what those danged 'Mormons' do!

Aliphatic Hydrocarbon - Hydrocarbon, unless im drunk, is not only a carcinogen (spelled that wrong) but probably poisonous

oh and its also completely insoluable in water

man this got off topic quick

Kochanut you aren't kidding! LOL.

Lava note to self! Next send PM to select few that would realize the bait you listed wouldn't actually be used!

Everyone, we went to Newton and hit the Bear River! Rapala, jigs, worms, carp meat. NO WD-40!!!!!

Sorry for mass confusion but maybe some of you found out what is in WD-40! And my next thought is why in the hell would anyone actually use that...???? Even if you heard it worked???? Nothing like Smoked Kitty and Hinge Door!!!!

Yes it did, and thanks for that follow up. My question, if you know it is bad, why would you even want to use a little bit.
As for motors, they are working on outlawing those disgusting 2 cycle piece of craps, and I don't think four stroke are a problem.

Why can't we all think Clean! and not "well they are doing it".....PAY IT FORWARD!

Anyway, LAVA, we all know you are really spitting CHEW on the bait!!!! ] You .......CHEATER!!!!![laugh][laugh][laugh][laugh]
