Fished the 4th stop of the Tennessee East Division B.A.S.S. Weekend Series on Watts Bar yesterday as a Co-Angler. My Boater stayed within 2 miles upriver and downriver of the Kingston Steam Plant all day, fishing ledges 99% of the time. They wouldn't touch a jig or any size worm. Only deep cranks. Caught my first keeper around 9:00 but it would just touch by less than a millimeter. No sure bet it would measure at weigh in. Caught mostly small fish (felt like I was on Loudon), but did manage to pull one keeper to the surface before it came unbuttoned. We ran back to Tom Fuller Park for the weigh in. We had 10 minutes left when we entered the slough so we dropped the trolling motor 400 yards from the ramp and started fishing rocks right next to 20 feet of water. As time ran out, my boater pulled up the trolling motor. While he was strapping down his rods, I pitched a white Chatterbait to an underwater rock. As I pulled off, a 3.5 lber slammed it! The very last cast! I almost pulled a Jimmy Houston and kissed that fish on the mouth.
Ended up with over 5 lbs for 2 fish (Co-Anglers only weigh in 3) and was happy to get it. 11 lbs won it on the Co-Angler side and one 20 lb sack (5 fish) won it on the Boater side.
