Well because I am on call all weekend for work, I decided not to take the canoe and just go to a bridge I like to fish. I got to the spot before daylight and started throwing a series 6 deep diving crank and was bumping the crank against some rocks on the bottom, and the fish were killing it at an amazing pace. I caught 5 before daylight and once the day light broke , i started performing a crank pause retrieve reeling down the crank and then letting it float back up about 3 foot, they were hitting it on the rise. Once the sun came up and got overhead I started throwing a 1/2 oz spinnerbait and litterally caught 8 fish on 9 cast. all together i landed 23 fish and the biggest was in the 3.5 lb area and a lot of 2 lb'ers and just as many slicks that were in the 12" length range. all baits were sexy shad in color , and the water was flowing quite a bit at daylight. the water stopped moving and the bite stopped so I left and came home and was at home by 9:30 AM. Happy 4th to all and ecspecially to our Vet's and currently serving soilders....THANK YOU for all you have done to give me the FREEDOM to be able to go out and fish, for a FREEDOM that way to many take for granted..... emoToast emoWorthy emoUSA emoUSA emoUSA emoUSA emoThanks :emoticon:logo
