any one hit mantua today? What was the fishing and crowds like? I know it was crazy crowded last weekend.

Did not get up there until about 1030. As you guessed a grundle of people, at least off the south road. Didn't appear to be so many on the west side. I thought fishing was pretty good, the catching had a lot to be desired. Fish were there but the bite was not.Slow day of catching. I left at 1430. Just barely enough for a meal.

I took a bunch of my nieces and nephews up yesterday and fished from about 0930-1230. We enjoyed consistent action using small (2-3mm) Wolfgram jigs tipped with a single spike. Although we caught fish consistently from the time we arrived I did notice that the bite really picked up about 1130, whereas last Sunday it really slowed down by 1030. We fished the south side of the knoll in 12-15' of water.

And don't worry about the crowds, there's pleny of lake, we didn't have anyone within a couple of hundred yards of us.

We fished Mantua Saturday for about three hours. It started out slow, but picked up around noon. We ended up with about forty gills and two rainbows between four of us. When the schools would pass by, everyone was pulling in fish, then it would just stop.

We were pretty close to the south road. About eight feet of water.
