My fleet groweth
#1
Today I picked up my winter project (one of many).[sly] I scored on a gently used Leigh Striker II. Which of course I have been looking for to see about upgrading my skins on my Striker. Turns out I don't have to do too much. There is a little wear but then it is 12 years old. I can then use this toon in place of my old one.[cool] It came with a few acessories that I didn't have. By the time I am done there will be two usable toons at my place.

What needs to happen:
1. transfer eurethane bladders from my toon to new skins. They are the stronger material, get two grommets and attach to skins for bladders. Clean the skins.
2. clean frame and put new velcro in places that the velcro has come off.
3. have new foot rest machined. One was missing due to the person I bought it from had his nephew on it and it is now on the bottom of pelican lake.
4. Build new motor mount and rack similar to old one. Need new one anyway, the last one I built is showing its age and needs replacing.
5. attach all accessories from old toon.
6. attach velcro for motor registration numbers

Then go out and try it out!!!

Nice score. I thought Leigh had car tire tubes, but yours has Urethane?

They did come with inner tubes. 10 years ago one of mine failed and that is when I found out that Leigh was pretty much gone. I also found out that sportsman's warehouse had gotten bucks bags to make replacement bladders which just happened to be urethane. So of course I got a set.
