I didn't want the rain to stop me from a little fishing fun so I started out from my house in the HEAVY fog and some pretty strong wind thinking that it might not be a good day on the lake from the weather standpoint but I was sure wrong, emoRolleyes When I put in at Chester Frost Park there was no fog and almost no wind there, so I was off in search of some crappie for the grease, emoTongue emoHungry I had 25+ by 8:15, the catchin' was so fast at that time that I wasn't watchin' the clock, emoSmile but I was sure havin' a ball, emoThumbsup I fished from 7:45 'till 1:30 and ended up with 52 into the boat. I lost several, (about 7 or 8) due to pulling off while trying to lift 'em into the boat or breakin' off around the dock posts. That 4 lb line won't take much abuse, emoAngry But they were fun anyway. I culled twice making sure that I didn't have any fish under 11 inches but miss counted and only brought 13 home, emoAngry Also caught 2 really nice bass but couldn't get them into the boat with all the light gear and trying to work the net they both ended up getting off. One was, I'm sure, over 18 inches long and a big, healthy fish. Sure wish I could have gotten my hands on him, emoTongue The count for the crappie was anywhere from a 2 to a 6 today but had to be in 20+ FOW to find fish. I also caught 3 nice sized bream all on BG Crystal shad and panfish assassins. They would hit blue sparkle also but most of the time they needed a tail light to help things along. Smallest I kept was 11 in and the largest caught today was 13. Couldn't find the really big fish today but it sure was a blast. Didn't get wet 'cause I have new raingear, emoThumbsup
Water temp ranged from 71* above the Nuke and 79* below. Looks like this cool rain is coolin' off the water.
