The ice on the NorthEast side is okay. About 4-5 inches. It is soft around the edges though. You kinda have to jump from the rocks onto the solid ice because there is about 3 feet os slush before the ice.
I was there for a short time today with Ratstar. We were pretty much trying out my new Nil's Ice auger. Which by the way they are awesome! I cut a hole in 5 inches in less then 11 seconds, That is pretty dang good for a 8" manual auger. But be careful on the ice. When we left it was 3 degrees, so it should be a little better for you tomorrow. [signature]

Yeah its supposed to be even colder tomorrow so make sure you have a tent and dress for it. Dont come unprepared like a certain someone. (And by someone I mean ME!)

Went with my Son on Tuesday and we ALMOST may as well have stayed home and watched fishing on t.v.
The alarm on the fishfinder was silent the whole time, we tried worms, mealworm, and powerbait. Not even a nibble. It was good to be out though! Ice was about 4-5", and was slippery. Waterproof boots that are about mid calf would have been nice, because the edges were soft. [signature]

I was at Cabelas yesterday and they have a nil's in the Bargain Cave for about $100 If you need an auger then I would jump on that.

How deep? I was at the north inlet in about 21 ft using glow tubes and meal worms, looked like alot of guys over by the dam on the east side.
