Porcupine Report 9-27
#1
A relative from Seattle was in town and so I took him fishing to the pig for most of the morning. One or two other boats and a handful of bank tanglers were present. Hoping to catch some big browns, but unsuccessful. Caught quite a few Koke, none of them red. Seemed like some big trout were hanging out on the bottom... drifted some worms and dead minnows with no success. Wind was such that drifting the bottom was a challenge. Also tried trolling every lure we had but I think we were not getting deep enough. I didn't ping one fish all morning less than 30 feet deep. Quite a few rolled the surface though. Lost my favorite LureJensen pop gear to the prop, thankfully I had just removed my favorite go-to lure, and only lost a wedding ring! It is very hard managing 2 poles, the outboard, and snack and drinks at the same time. Sorry there is not much good info in this report... we had a good time, enough said.

Nice day to be on the water. Glad you guys didn't get skunked either.

The biggest one was probably around 12-13" or so. Had a couple on that seemed bigger and got away. I normally quit fishing for them in August because of the "if they're red, release" rule... but was pleasantly surprised today that they were as silver as can be. The ones caught are probably next years spawners. I guess I will keep trolling after them a while longer.
