Launching conditions at DeerCreek?
#1
Are there any problems launching large boats at the main DeerCreek marina?
Had heard a few people mention that the ramp was closed, but nobody could confirm. Is there a number I can call? (Deer Creek State Park?...)
Thanks!

I used to N.ot have E.nough T.ime O.ff to go fishing.  Then I retired.  Now I have less time than I had before. Sheesh.

The only ramp I have seen closed up there is the island one further east of the main ramp. Launch at the main one and you should be fine. The res is as high as its been all year. i saw it this morning. Fees are pretty steep unless you have the parks pass.

Drove by Deer Creek last night and it is essentially full. Apparently the work that required keeping the water level low is done. You should be fine launching there.

[#0000bf] You can look at the island ramp as well as the bank so you can see the water level on "livelakeview.com[/#0000bf]

You should be fine. I launched sunday with no problems, the lake is as high as i have seen it in the last 2-3 years.

Was there till 1pm. Launch away I'd say. For larger boats I'd definetly use the south state park ramp. (grade is steeper) Island ramp was in use all morning while I was out there fishing. (smaller crafts though; you have to back way into the water; prob launch @ own risk over there.)

Fishing was a tad slow though.

Thanks for all the replies...believe it or not I will NOT even be taking a fishing pole!
It is for viewing the annual Fireworks show on the night of the 24th that Midway puts on each year.

In case anyone is interested, Midway does a 24th of July Fireworks show that is best viewed from your boat at DeerCreek, and not having been in DeerCreek for about 4 weeks now (Waterskied 4 weeks ago) I hadn't heard whether it was launchable or not.

I learned a long time ago not to take a fishing pole to that lake. I'm sure some do very well there...but not me!

Thanks again!
