Willard wiper fun 7/2
#1
Today I was supposed to meet my two sons for an outing on the Bay. Both ended up with other plans so I decided to try it out on my own.

Got to the lake at 7:45 and out trolling at 8:00 Water temp was 77 degrees and no wind.l It was actually quite hot with no wind, and NO BUGS. Left the south marina and started out to the west side and then to the light pole. No pickups until I was almost to the pole and turned back for the east side. A real nice wiper. No more action until I almost got to the east side and then strikes came regularly.

To bad the boys could not make it. My take for the day was 4 nice Wipers and 2 walleye. They would have really enjoyed it. The wipers were caught on a lipless crank bait. The wallleye were caught on a Heddon Sonar.

Nice report biggfish, thanks for posting it. What time did you get off the water? Was there any size to the fish you caught? WH2

I left the water around noon. 2 of the wipers were over 18 inches the others were down around 12. While I was at the cleaning station there was another group come in and they had a good catch of wipers. They had some that were larger than ones I had.
