Today's Fishing Report - Hopedale, LA
#1
Today's Fishing Report

The Crew: Greg and Ben (not the Capt. Ben)
The Catch: (49) 2 to 2 1/2 pound Trout
(3) 20 inch Redfish
(1) 6 pound Sheepshead

Capt. Ben said his 1st stop was on a reef that produced 30+ Speckled Trout. Moving to the next spot, which he called his transitional spot, produce the remaining Trout that came to a total of 49 (just one shy of there limit due to a miss count of fish). Capt. Ben said that after they thought they caught their limits, he moved (with Trout still biting) to search for RedFish.

The 1st spot they stopped at for Redfish (the place he calls his 8 Spot), produced (3) 20 inch Reds with many more lost all in a 10 minute period.

For bait they used the Berkley Gulp Shrimp with a jig head and dragged it along the bottom. Sometimes, to change things up, they would use the Berkley Gulp Shrimp under a cork.

The weather's getting cooler and the fishing is still good. To book your next Louisiana Fishing Expedition, give Capt. Ben a call at 985-630-2066. If he doesn't answer, please leave a message and as soon as he gets it he'll return your call. The cell phones down in Hopedale are hit or miss so that's why it's important to leave your message.

HAPPY FISHING!

Sincerely,
Alysha H. Leto

P.S. Don't forget this Sunday Capt. Ben will be rebuilding his boat dock/shed back. If anyone out there still wants to help, please give Capt. Ben a call.
