Blue Ice
#1
I've been meaning to post about this and hope someone finds it useful.
We use refreeze able packets for our bait cooler but they are not the blue ice ones.  They are refreeze packets that people who order their meds on line get.  A couple of our neighbors buy their stuff online.  These meds come in a styrofoam cooler about 11" square.  The walls and lid are 1 1/4" thick or so.  This cooler works great for us in the boat.  The freeze packets about 5" x 5". I have not actually measured any of this stuff. They hold cold in the little cooler for more than 24 hrs.  Tons better than the blue ice we've used.  Doesn't cost us anything either.
May be someone can use this info.

My wife gets them when her medicine is delivered. We have a ton of them. I keep 4 in the freezer section of our frig. Then when I'm going fishing, I just throw them in a cooler and I'm set.

I think that most people who have medicine delivered in this way have bunches and would be more than willing to give em away.

Our kids use to buy those ready to eat meals, because they were so busy they did not have time to make regular meals and we got some the gel packs that came with the meals, to keep them frozen. We got bigger ones that were 9.5" by 12.5" the smaller ones were 7" by 9"

Works great for all my fishing trips, big ones are used when I'm keeping fish, small one is best when keeping my lunch, water and bait cold.
