Fuel transfer pump
#1
The last time I went fishing, I wanted to refill my gas tank after I'd put the boat into my storage unit. While trying to manhandle a 5-gal can in the dark and fill my tank with a funnel, I managed to spill a quart or so of gas into my motor well. The first thought in my mind was "This is where they'll find my charred remains."

Then I happened to see a Youtube of a guy with an awkward riding mower tank, solved with a battery-powered pump. "DING" went the lightbulb in my head. Online, there are several cheap pumps at China Freight, but they all had very short dispensing hoses and short pickups that don't reach the bottom of a 5-gal can. More search found this one:

Guys, this is a wonderful tool. I'll use it at the boat all summer and for my snowblower in winter. I especially like that it can be USB powered as well as AA batts, and it even comes with a USB cord. It's quiet, pumps about two gallons a minute, and drains completely when done. The shutoff handle is especially handy.

Very interesting pump Rocky, I've had several similar pumps over the years but they were always the manual type, that required me pumping them. Thanks for the link

Harbor Freight has some that are similar. I have two of them. I use one for water and the other for gas. The one I use for gas gets used all the time. They are very handy.

From what I've seen the HF ones have short tubes, both pickup and delivery. And to stop the flow, you have to turn them off. Right?

The short tubes mean you still have to lift the full gas can to get it near enough to the boat tank. At least that's what the reviewers on YT say.

The ones I have are for putting gear lube in the foot, not for the gas, the one you bought looks like a great one for transferring gas
