Pretty good morning at Willard today. Seven or eight catfish and surprisingly about that number of bluegills. All fish were caught north of the South
Marina in 8 to 14 FOW. Invited a couple home for dinner.

Nice report and outing. How big were the gills? I have caught quite a few there this year as well. However, all the ones I have caught have only been in the 5 inch range.

I also had a good day at Willard. First boat to launch at N. marina at 06:15. Picked up first wiper on west dike at 07:00, a big 5 lb.. Next wiper caught at 09:00 between marina and N. dike in 15 fow. about a 6 lb.. while reeling it in, my other pole bent over with a 22 in. catfish. Another hour went by before I landed a 10 in. SMB. , followed shortly by a huge 12 in. yellow perch. Both caught just north of marina in 17 fow. All fish were caught on either a rattle-trap or lipped crankbait in Fire-tiger trolling 2.5-3.0 mph. Missed one other bite out in 23 fow near bouys. I invited the wipers and perch home for dinner.
