Locamotive Springs

Can any one tell me the condition of locomotive springs? It is fishiable right now? Are there fish in there? I was going to take my boy camping in the west desert next weekend and wanted to hit up locomotive springs if it was fishable.

I haven't been there in a few years but here is information from the DWR's stocking report showing that both of the springs were stocked in April so I'm sure you and your son should be able to catch some fish.

It's free fishing day on Saturday so you might have some company.[]

Locomotive can be a fun place to take kids. The bad thing about this time of year is that the stupid cormorants are returning, and they can clean that place out quite quickly.

Haven't been out there since mid January but then Baker and Bar M were just mossy mud puddles. Teal was in somewhat better shape. This time of year plan on lots of mosquitoes, horse flies and ATVs.
