Made a quick evening run out to SH Sat. There was a nice breeze and cloudy conditions...it was screaming "SPINNER BAITS", so I listened. Let the southern wind take me along the shoreline as I slung a 1/2 oz white/chartreuse double willow blade SB up tight and slow rolled it back...it didn't take long. It was around 530pm when I nailed my first 5 pounder, followed by a 4 pounder on the next cast. Well...it just continued on that trend until I left around 7pm. Water temps 58, clarity excellent as always. The slower I could work the spinner bait, the more they would eat it. Fun evening...

Very nice! I'm so excited for the spawn to progress up north in the next few weeks! I tried a pond up here in Uintah Co. and the males were just starting to show up shallow, but they were skittish!

I bet you guys are behind this year with all the snow and cold weather. The males have been skittish as well here until recently...they have finally locked down. The females are the skittish ones in skinny water right now. You can spot them, but they quickly swim away when presented. The time to get them is really early or late with the lower light levels when they feel more comfortable and willing to participate. Won't be long until they are both locked down, and the fun begins! Good luck up there!

It did feel good to finally get some females...I was growing tired of the 1-2 lb males, lol! Now the fun begins!

Nice and thanks for the report. Those are beauties! I'm hoping to get my boat out on Sand Hollow this week, will be the first time on soft water for me this year.
